Content and Conduct Guidelines

AWTeen is a diverse community where citizens of different cultures, ethnic groups, races, religions, and beliefs interact.  As a result, it is necessary for the organizers of the world to ensure that all visitors are treated fairly and equally, and that their visit remains as pleasant as possible.

AWTeen adheres to Activeworlds' Corp's Content and Conduct guideslines, located at http://www.activeworlds.com/community/terms.asp and http://www.activeworlds.com/community/conduct.asp respectively.  The AWTeen Patrol, the Peacekeepers, and Activeworlds Corp's staff reserve the right to take action against violators of these guidelines.  Actions may include a verbal warning, ejection from the world for increasing amounts of time, and, upon repeated or severe offenses, referral to Activeworlds Corp. for higher-level penalties.

In addition to the guidelines available above, AWTeen enforces the following regulations that are specific to this world:

1.  Though AWTeen allows "special commands" to be used by all users, there is always the possibility that this right can be abused by builders.  Therefore, please refrain from creating objects that move or rotate above or below another's property so that the objects are in a state of encroachment.  In addition, please do not shine lights onto others' properties.  The Patrol reserves the right to delete any objects that may violate these guidelines.

2.  Because AWTeen is a world designed for all ages, language that is inappropriate may be judged more harshly in AWTeen (which is a G rated world) than in Alphaworld (which is a PG rated world).  Those who make offensive or racist comments may be ejected on the first offense even if the violation would only constitute a warning in a PG rated world.  In addition, several words that are not censored in Alphaworld may cause a warning to be given in AWTeen.

3.  AWTeen's object path contains many copyrighted and publicly unavailable objects donated by hardworking members of the AW Community.  Therefore, the Core apologizes that the object path is not available for public use.  If you would like a free object path to use in your world, we suggest that you choose AlphaWorld's, located at http://objects.activeworlds.com/aw/.  In addition, a variety of free objects are available at Casay's Objects D' Activeworlds site.  Please note that worlds using AWTeen's object path are in violation of international copyright law and may be subject to civil and criminal penalties.

4.  Soliciting for online relationships or "cybersex" at ground zero through normal chat visible to all users is strictly prohibited.  If you are seeking a relationship, talking to people individually is the best way to get to know others.  Violators will be warned and then ejected for five minutes.
