The Skyline trail is a must-see hiking experience along the Cabot Trail. Seven kilometers long, the loop requires about three hours to complete at a leisurely pace.
Beginning at a roadside turnoff and wheelchair accessible, it winds through stony ground and meadows before reaching a boardwalk built on a mountain 493 meters above the ocean. The bench at the end of the trail is at approximately the same elevation as the house in State College, were it possible to look straight down at the ocean.
You'll be granted the opportunity to hike the trail during the late afternoon, as the sun winds its way down over the Atlantic.
