Embarking on a trip of this magnitude requires surprisingly few items. Since you'll be spending each night in different locations, and because baggage fees can be excessive, it is important to bring as little as possible. That said, there are a few essentials that you definitely need:
- Sunglasses and hats
- The expensive Canon camera
- Cell phones, computers, and books to read
- Clothes appropriate for several warm days with highs in the upper 70s, and several rainy days with highs in the lower-to-mid 60s
- Passports
- Hiking boots
- Beach blanket
- A hiking backpack
- Clothes appropriate for a celebratory dinner
- Bathing suits
Pack the items into large suitcases that can be easily moved. Because Steve and Chris will bring some items that you can use, and because you should pack light, bag fees for two large suitcases (but no more) will be paid to you free of chrage.
Here's what you should not bring. The following items are unnecessary or they will be brought by Steve and Chris.
- Beach towels
- Bug spray
- Video cameras
- More than one set of dress clothes
- Umbrellas
- Sunscreen
- Bottled water and soda
