Though the amount of driving will be far less than how long you drove to get to Florida or the touring you did around Yellowstone, driving will be a more prominent portion of this trip than it has been on some other anniversary trips. During the six days of attractions, the average time spent on the road is estimated to be around four hours per day.
However, this time does not capture the purpose of the driving, because many people travel to Nova Scotia simply to drive. Motorcyclists ride from Ottawa to the tip of Cape Breton and back in four days, without stopping anywhere, simply to see the sights along the road. The driving is not featureless woodlands on massive highways. Instead, the Cabot Trail, which is only accessible by driving, is what some publications have rated the most scenic road in the world. Outside Cape Breton, roads in Nova Scotia are peppered with historic monuments and scenic towns.
However, when there are periods of highway driving, we thought that you might become bored. That's why we purchased wireless hotspot service. You'll be able to access the Internet on your phones, tablets and laptops while driving along the highway just as if you were at home, and using the wireless hotspot and Google Voice you can make unlimited calls to family members at no additional charge.
Furthermore, Dad's only complaint about the 2012 Michigan trip was that the large car that was rented was still not big enough for his taste. Therefore, we didn't only rent a luxury car, or a large SUV, but we rented a large family minivan that seats seven people. With only you and your wife to occupy the entire back two rows of the van, you'll have ample space to stretch out and enjoy the sights, or to fall asleep across the back benches. Not only that, but we designed the trip so that the majority of the sights will be on the left, so that you can both sit next to the left window and have an unobstructed view of astounding views of the landscape.
Also provided for your comfort will be eyeshades, earplugs, pillows, and blankets; custom decorations and mood lighting; a large monitor to track the trip's progress and to allow you to watch movies; and power inverters to charge your devices.
Large maps of the full driving details are available throughout the brochure.
