Paintball
Bot Commands
The tables below list all of
the player commands for the paintball bots the AW Paintball Network uses.
As new commands are added, this page is updated. Check back every Saturday
before each session starts for an updated commands list.
Brief Explanation of how
to play paintball
Paintball is a game where
partitipants must click on each other to eject them. A "clicked" person
is ejected for five seconds, and the "clicker" earns one point. GZ, or
ground zero (the area in the immediate center of the playing field) is
a safe haven and players cannot eject or be ejected while in this location.
While original paintball was based solely on the above premise, the AW
Paintball Network has modified the original idea by including several additional
features, and keeping score.
Other important points
While in most paintball worlds,
"local teleports" are disabled, meaning that it is impossible to teleport
out of GZ, in AWTeen and other large building worlds, disabling this is
impossible. Therefore, you may not fire if you return to the playing field
outside of GZ. This rule was imposed to eliminate cheating by many players,
and to make it more difficult for players to create "clones". In
WAR, this option remains enabled to prevent the use of "hacked" AW broswers.
How frenzy powerups work
Frenzy powerups are the blue
rocks that are located throughout the paintball field. By clicking on a
blue rock, it is possible for you to earn two points for each ejection
you make during the next 30 seconds. For the best effect and most points,
these powerups can be used in conjunction with grenades.
Command |
Description
/ Possible Results |
score |
Instructs the
bot to whisper to you the current score of all participating players. It
will also tell you the current number of total ejections.
-When teams are not enabled,
the score command will simply list each player with his or her current
score.
-When teams are enabled,
the score command will list the score of each team first, followed
by a line consisting of ten "-" characters, and then the scores of players
who are not part of a team. |
stats |
Instructs the bot to whisper to you some
important information about the current game.
-Your kill count is the number of times
you killed other players (the same as if you would say "score". Your
rank in this area represents how many kills you have as compared to other
players.
-Your death count is the number of times
you were killed. As above, your rank in this area represents how
many times you died compared to other players.
-Your kill to death ratio, calculated
by dividing the number of kills by the number of deaths, is an indicator
of how efficient a player you are. For example, if your ratio was
3.526:1, that means that for every time you died, you killed 3.526 players
on average. The higher this number, the better for you. |
deaths |
Displays the death totals of all players.
These represent the number of times each player was killed, while the score
represents the number of times each player killed another. |
ratios |
Displays the kill to death ratios of all
players. This is an indicator, as stated above, of how efficient
a player you are. See the last point for the "stats" command for
an explanation of kill to death ratios. Only players with 11 or more
kills are shown on this list. |
pscore |
Instructs the
bot to whisper to you the current score of all participating players.
-When teams are enabled, this
command has the same effect as the score command does when teams
are not enabled.
-When teams are not enabled,
this command has no effect. |
worlds |
Instructs the
bot to whisper to you the names of all participating worlds in the network.
-Sometimes a world name may
appear twice. This is because there can be multiple fields in one world.
Talk to the Caretaker of that world (listed on the participating
worlds page) for the location of the fields in their world. |
who |
Instructs the
bot to whisper to you the names of all the players in the same world that
you are in. Also has the bot whisper to you how many players are
currently playing. |
create
[teamname] |
If teams are
enabled, tells the bot to create a new team with the name you specify.
-If teams are not enabled,
this command has no effect.
-If the teamname you specified
is already in use by another team, you will receive an error message. Choose
a different name or join the team with that name.
-The creator of a team is
then referred to as the team's leader. As the leader of a team, you must
approve all persons who wish to join your team.
-Creators inherit the responsibility
to ensure that all members of their team are playing fairly. If one
member of a team is found to be cheating, the entire team will be disqualified. |
join
[teamname] |
Informs the bot
that you want to join the team that you specified.
-If teams are not enabled,
this command has no effect.
-If the teamname you specified
does not exist, you will receive an error message. Try again, making sure
that you spelled the name correctly. Team names are not case sensitive.
-For every team session,
there is a maximum number of players that can participate on one team.
If a team is "full" (already having the maximum number of players), you
will be unable to join.
-When you ask to join a team,
the team's leader is asked if he or she will allow you to join their team.
If they say "yes", you will be allowed to participate on their team. If
the leader says "no" or does not reply within 30 seconds, you can try again
or join another team.
-Use this command carefully!
Once you join a team, you cannot remove yourself from that team for any
reason for the rest of the session. This rule was developed to prevent
cheating.
-If you asked to join a team
less than 30 seconds before you repeat the command again and the team leader
did not respond, you will receive an error message.
-If the team leader of the
team you wish to join is not online, you cannot join that team. |
teams |
If teams are
enabled, this command will list the current teams and their members.
-If teams are not enabled,
this command has no effect. |
version |
Makes the bot
whisper to you its current version. |
weapons |
If grenades are
enabled, this command instructs the bot to whisper to you how many grenades
you currently possess. In addition, the bot will tell you whether or not
you have a grenade currently armed.
-If powerups are not enabled,
this command has no effect. |
arm |
If
grenades are enabled, arms a grenade.
-Grenades must be armed before
you use them. To obtain a grenade, first click on one of the red rocks
around the paintball field.
-After obtaining a grenade,
say or whisper to the bot "arm" to arm one of your grenades.
-Though grenades may only
be able to be obtained in certain worlds in the network depending on the
preferences of that world owner, they can be used in any world in the network.
-You may not obtain more
than one grenade every five seconds.
-Grenades are fired by clicking
on someone just as you normally would if you were not firing a grenade.
You will fire the grenade, and, a second later, it will explode at the
position the target was at one second ago. (It is possible that a person
who is moving rapidly can avoid grenades by moving out of range after they
are fired.) When the grenade explodes, all people within 30m of the original
target will be ejected, and you will earn points for each ejection.
-If part of GZ is within
range of the grenade, and a person is standing in GZ, that person will
not be affected.
-The above rule also applies
to the edge of the playing field.
-If you are standing within
30m of the grenade's explosion, you will also be ejected, but you will
not earn any points for ejecting yourself.
-If a teammate is within
the 30m radius, you will not earn points for his or her ejection if teams
are enabled. |
