Grenades and Frenzy Powerups

Grenades and frenzy powerups are unique to the Shoemaker Village paintball bot. These features add an entirely new level of gameplay to paintball.

You can enable grenades and frenzy powerups using the Powerup Options... button in the Setup dialog box. After you have enabled these features in one or multiple worlds, the bot will query property. Please note that in worlds where you wish to use these features, the bots must possess build rights, and a large percentage of the field must be built under the bot's citizen numbers in worlds that possess registries. If only a small portion is built under the bot's citizen number, the bot will continually loop, searching for a place where a grenade or frenzy powerup will not be in a state of encroachment, or after 20 tries, not create the object at all, causing the game to malfunction. This also increases the lag time involved drastically.

Grenades and frenzy powerups, by default, are created as rock3.rwx's somewhere in the playing field. Grenades are red, while frenzy powerups are blue. When a player clicks on a grenade, they are given one grenade, the object is deleted, and a new grenade object is added somewhere else on the playing field.

After a player has obtained a grenade, they can say "arm" at any time to arm their grenade. At that time, when the player clicks on another player next, the grenade is fired, and anyone within 30m of the explosion is ejected. The player can also eject him- or herself, causing him- or herself to lose one point (or two if a frenzy powerup is used in conjunction with the grenade).

Frenzy powerups allow a player to score two points for each ejection they make, whether normal or grenade related. Frenzy powerups can be obtained by clicking on them like grenades. After clicking on them, the player goes into a "frenzy", earning two points for each ejection, including with grenades.

The number of grenades and frenzy powerups on the field can be set using the "Set Weapons" dialog box from the "Actions" menu. First, select the world that you would like to change the weapons in (this only works after all bots have finished querying). Change the number of grenades and frenzy powerups in that world by typing in the new numbers, and then click "Set". It may take a few seconds before all grenades and frenzy powerups are updated.
